Charlotte Gibbons


Charlotte Gibbons is from Rosendale, NY.  She is currently living and working out of Space Space in Ridgewood, NY. Charlotte graduated from SUNY Purchase in 2004.  She has been making work in and around NYC since. She also dances with Anna Sperber, Jennifer Monson, Leah Morrison, KJ Holmes, Nina Winthrop, Christine Elmo and Noopur Singha. Charlotte, along with composer Stephen Cooper and visual artist Geoffery Nosach, are the founding members of art team Eagle Ager. She will present her work at the Kitchen in February of 2008.



Jonathan Bastiani


Jonathan Bastiani, from Bozeman Montana, graduated with a BFA in Modern Dance from the University of Utah in 2002.  He finished a graduate teacher training program in Alexander

Technique at Balance Arts (Ann Rodiger-director) in 2007.  He has studied extensively in New York taking classes and workshops at Movement Research, Trisha Brown Company, Panetta Studio, Dance NewAmsterdam, and Kline studio.  He has danced professionally with Leonardo Smith, Wil Swanson Danceworks, Tere O'Conner, Juliet Mapp, Julie Atlas Muz, Rebecca Brooks and many others.



Alejandra Martorell


Alejandra Martorell has had the privilege of working with Sally Silvers, Jennifer Monson, DD Dorvillier, Viveca Vázquez and Karen Sherman, among others. Her choreography has been seen in various NYC venues as well as spaces in Philadelphia, Montreal, Argentina, Perú and Puerto Rico. She holds a Master’s degree on Interdisciplinary Arts Education focused on movement improvisation as an educational and choreographic tool. Alejandra is one-third of Tryst (with Clarinda Mac Low and Paul Benney), a collaborative team that conjures free outdoor performance situations for re-envisioning and re-discovering the physical landscapes of our everyday life (see www.cmlperformance.org). She co-edits Movement Research’s online publication Critical Correspondence, and will become a certified Alexander Technique teacher in 2008.



Peter Sciscioli


Peter Sciscioli is a Brooklyn based performer/choreographer whose work spans the realms of dance, music (voice and violin) and theater.  He has worked locally and internationally with such artists as Jane Comfort, DD Dorvillier, Philip Glass, Susan Marshall, Meredith Monk, Fiona Templeton, and Mary Zimmerman. Sciscioli's work has been produced throughout New York, Chicago and in Central and South America.  He is also a graduate of Oberlin College.

Valarie Samulski


Valarie Samulski is a Brooklyn based artist looking into the infinite potential of the body.  Her explorations continuously weave connections between physical, psychological, socio-cultural, and spiritual aspects of the human experience.  She endeavors to share this progressive momentum through her work as a teacher, performer, and author.  Her projects have been presented at Duke University, The Limon Institute, The NYC Imagine Arts Festival, Packer Collegiate Institute, Friends Academy, BRIC Studios, and Mental Floss Magazine.  She has been a guest artist with Two Near the Edge, Magbana Drum and Dance, and Idol Hands Dance Project.  She is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Duke University (2001), and also received the honors of Phi Beta Kappa, Alpha Kappa Delta Honor Society, The Benenson Award in the Arts, The Julia Wray Memorial Dance Award, The Duke Dance Award, and The NC Arts Council Community Arts Grant.



Michelle Nagai


Michelle Nagai is a Brooklyn-based composer who creates site-specific performances, installations, radio broadcasts, dances and other interactions that address the human state in relationship to its setting. Her work has been supported by the American Composers Forum, the Deep Listening Institute, free103point9, Harvestworks, the Interdisciplinary Laboratory for Art, Nature and Dance, the Jerome and McKnight Foundations, Meet the Composer and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Composition from Bennington College. Nagai has worked with Choreographers DD Dorvillier, Daria Fain, Clyde Forth, and Jennifer Monson, among others; Director/Playwright Peter Jacobs; and Video Artists Ursula Scherrer and Iki Nakagawa.




Kryssy Wright


Kryssy Wright is happy to be working with Daria instead of flying by the seat of her pants.  She has been designing lights for dance and theater and working various production related jobs for seven years. Her work as a designer has been seen in Indiana, Vermont, Massachusetts, Maine, and New York. Since relocating to New York City, Kryssy has been active with Sens Production, Brendan McCall, Yoshiko Chuma, Philippa Kaye Company, PS122, The Civilians, Liz Sargent, Danspace, Columbia University, Dowling College, and others.  She has a degree from Bennington College.
